Goodbye Old Car

We said goodbye today to our forest green 2000 Eddie Bauer Ford Explorer. It was sad. It was our first car, and we've had it for 8 years. We had some fond memories in that car. We drove it out here from Chicago. We drove it to Maine to go camping, we dug it out of the snow after countless blizzards, Colin drove it gingerly to the hospital while I was in labor, we got pulled over when Alistair was a few days old because of a burned out tail light, we filled it to the brim with insulation, we took many trips to the dump and from Home Depot, and we explored our new New England home. The New England winters (in other words salt) got the best of it. With only 109,000 odd miles on it, the exhaust system and more importantly the catalytic converter was corroded. Our trade in value was only $500.
