This weekend, maple sugar farms in New Hampshire host open houses so you can watch them boil maple sap into syrup. This year we visited the MacNamara farm. They built a new sugar shack a year and a half ago. We enjoyed donut pieces dipped in maple syrup and toast with maple butter made on the farm. The kids also had sugar on snow. Maple syrup is heated up (to over 260 F) and poured over snow, which turns the maple syrup into a yummy caramel. Both Alistair and Charlotte also ate most of their snow too.
We also went to visit the cows that make our milk. The farm was full of muddy puddles, which the kids loved splashing in. I was about to take a photo of Charlotte splashing in a puddle when she fell in.
