“New” Sandbox

Nearly two years ago, when Ben from across the street moved, they gave us their sandbox.  We still had the turtle sandbox, but theirs was much bigger.  Then the sandbox sat at the bottom of our porch stairs for two years, empty.  I was getting sick of looking at it, and I was also getting sick of looking at the unused dirt box that last summer was covered with weeds and overgrown mint.  So earlier this week, the kids weeded and flattened the dirt.

Yesterday Colin placed a curbside pick-up order at Home Depot (social distancing), and today I took Evelyn and Alistair for a drive to go pick up ten bags of play sand.  (It was the first time Alistair had been in the car for six weeks, when the coronavirus lockdown began.)  Evelyn and Alistair helped bring the bags from the car to the sandbox (good old dump truck!).

It's good to have a sand box again.  Fresh clean sand and room to play!
