Amtrak Exhibit Train

This morning we went down to Claremont to see the visiting Amtrak Exhbit Train.  The exhibit train was created in 2011 to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Amtrak.  It contains exhibits on Amtrak's history, rolling stock, advertising, design, routes, destinations. and future.

We also met a retired safety engineer who was very impressed by Alistair's conductor hat.  His own hat has the same brass plate (but with a different route of course).

While we were there, the real Amtrak train arrived to pick up passengers on route to New York City.
