First Day of our England Trip

After a three and a half hour drive, a border crossing, a domestic flight, and an overnight flight (where they oddly served us dinner at midnight), we landed at Manchester Airport in England.  We loaded up our rented Ford Mondeo and headed north to the Lake District, stopping off at Colin's Dad's house to say hello and pick up the portable crib.

We are renting a four bedroom cottage in Lorton, which is near Cockermouth, on the northwest side of the Lakes.  To get there, we drove over the Whinlatter Pass.

The cottage is perfect.  It has a huge eat in kitchen, with a warm Agar and attached utility room with a large vine growing up the wall and across the ceiling (which Evelyn thinks is fun).

The house also has a large dining room and a lounge with a wood/coal fireplace.
