The news media is calling it Frankenstorm. Hurricane Sandy is colliding with a winter storm this week. Our forecast is not nearly as bad as the coast, and the rainfall forecast is not as bad as Irene, but it means that we will be having a wet Halloween. I have spent many, many hours making Alistair's costume, but if it is raining, I'm not sure how much trick or treating we're going to do. (Charlotte's ladybug costume I never finished (two sewing machines malfunctioned on me in a 24 hour period), so she is going to wear Alistair's old pumpkin costume that she wore to Billings Farm today.) Really, it is not as important as the well being of everyone in the storm's path. We battened down the hatches today, and will do a bit more tomorrow.
