Ice "Collection"

Walking to and from school or the bus stop can often take a long time.  When there is no snow, the kids like to balance on the curb by the "speed bumps" or stop to inspect ant hills.  In the winter, the snow is a distraction - they kick it, eat it (although they are not supposed to), and carry big chunks of it.  Today, by the speed bumps, Charlotte picked up two pieces of frozen slush for her "collection".  Halfway home she dropped one of them and it broke into three pieces.  Here she is mourning the broken pieces.  Once we figured out tat each piece represented one member of our family (after she found a little piece for Evelyn), all was well.  The ice chunks are now in the play stove on the porch.
