Our Local Swimming Hole

It (thankfully) hasn't been a very hot summer.  Today though it got into the upper 80's, so to cool off, we went to our local swimming hole.  Although it's within walking distance to our house (a lovely walk before the bridge got washed away), we've actually never been there to splash in the brook.  It is a beautiful spot to splash around.

Alistair made some channels in the sand to reroute water on the banks, Evelyn and Charlotte found interesting stones in the brook, we spotted tiny fish in the water, and we rescued a butterfly that accidentally landed in the brook.  Evelyn was a bit hesitant, holding my hand when in the water or wanting me to carry her.

We were pleasantly surprised we where joined by our friends Georgia and Dahlia and Emma. Charlotte was more brave to travel upstream with the kids, and we ended up staying another hour.  Afterwards, we went to Dairy Twirl for some ice cream.
