This morning Evelyn went to school to meet her teacher and see her classroom. There was some shuffling of teachers and we only found out her new teacher last week. Her name is Mrs. Hopper and she seems lovely. Experienced and has that perfect kindergarten personality of kindness and encouragement, although it's difficult to see her smile behind a mask. Evelyn had a lot of questions in the car and was quite chatty, but as soon as we got into the school she became very shy. She did manage to ask one of her questions, "How do we play with our friends?" (and stay socially distanced).
The classroom was warm and welcoming despite the plexiglass shields and half the number of desks. Evelyn was excited that she shares a desk with her friend Frankie. Frankie is in Cohort A, so they unfortunately won't actually see each other.
Evelyn was super excited to try out the playground equipment. The climbing structure below was a bit to scary though.
