Toy Story

Tonight we had our first movie night.  We made a pizza from the Co-op (of which Alistair ate one bite) and watched Toy Story.  We dragged Charlotte's high chair into the living room too.  She wasn't very interested in watching the movie, so I gave her a bath instead.

When the opening credits showed Cinderella's castle, Colin asked Alistair if he knew what it was.  In one breath, he replied "Disney World!  I don't want to see Goofy."  We are planning a trip to Disney World in June with our good friends John and Gail.  We had been talking about Disney World a little bit with Alistair, but soon realized that he is afraid of the characters and doesn't want to go.  (He also confuses Elmo and Mickey Mouse - he thinks both are Elmo and that Elmo also lives at Disney.)  We talk instead about the monorail, the train, and the cars he can ride in.

Near the end of the Toy Story, things get pretty exciting.  Andy and the moving van are leaving Andy's house and Woody and Buzz have only just escaped from Sid's house.  They are desperate to catch up to the moving van.  It was all a bit much for Alistair, who kept saying that he didn't want to watch the movie and that he wanted a bath instead.  The movie soon ended, and ended happily.  Alistair was soon flying around the house like Buzz Lightyear.
