We are a little jet lagged, but we made it. This is going to be our house for the next week. We are staying in Beckermonds East Farm in Langstrothdale, in the Yorkshire Dale. There is a handful of buildings here and a sheep farm, which means a constant serenade of bleating sheep. The farmhouse dates back to the 1600's, but the house is open and bright.
The views from the cottage are amazing and peaceful. All we see are hills, stone walls, sheep and a old stone outbuildings.
Beckermonds East Farm is situated where Oughtershaw Beck merges Green Field Beck to form the River Wharfe. The water levels are very low at the moment due to the drought. This photo is from a small bridge over Green Field Beck.

The kids are excited about the little swings set next to the house.
There are a few trails right from the house, including the Dales Way. Here we are exploring the hill opposite the cottage.
It is amazing how much lighter it is here. Alistair and I went for a walk while Colin went out for a run on the Dales Way (which follows the River Wharfe), and it was still bright at eight thirty when I took this picture.
