After our steam train ride, we went to nearby Hesketh Farm. The first thing you can do right when you walk in the door is pet guinea pigs. Evelyn loved it. She and Vivienne happily (and gently) brushed the little guinea pigs. (See photo below.) We also were able to feed the calves bottles of milk, which was a lot of fun. Alistair brushed some pigs, and he fed them some feed using a little toy tractor.
After a bumpy tractor ride through the fields of cows and sheep, the kids played on the playground. Grandad pushed them on the big swing.
After some ice cold Magnum bars (of Victoria sponge cake), we went back later to pet the guinea pigs some more.
Alistair's favorite thing at the farm, and I think our whole trip to England, was the pedal cars. He had such fun riding those cars, and had a huge smile on his face the whole time.
