Disney's Hollywood Studios

Today we visited Hollywood Studios.  We had a busy and fun day - here are some of the highlights:

I really wanted to see the Star Wars area, so we went there first.  The wait time for the Star Tours ride was too long, but we saw the huge AT-AT walker stomping it's way through the Endor forest.  Alistair then played at the the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area.  He slid down slides inside tree roots, climbed on a giant spiderweb, and a slide down a piece of 35mm film from a roll of film.  (I'm not sure kids know what that is now.)  Here he is riding on an ant.

After pretending to be the size of an ant, we met up with John and Gail to watch the Beauty and the Beast musical.  Alistair was a bit worried about the beast, but both he enjoyed it.  It is one of my favorite princess film, so I admit that I really enjoyed it too.  Charlotte was interested in it too, but after a while just wanted to smile at John.

After lunch we went to see a car stunt show.  Charlotte fell asleep on the walk there and slept through the first third of the show, even with all the explosions and gun fire.  The highlight for Alistair was when Lightning McQueen made an appearance.

After seeing stunt cars and motorcycles jump through fire, we cooled off inside while watching a Disney Jr show.  Alistair was really into it.  Meeska, Mooska, Mickey Mouse!  Charlotte had a great time dancing (swaying back and forth) and clapping.

The day was flying by so fast that we almost didn't realize that it was parade time already.  Woody and Buzz Lightyear were there with the other Toy Story characters.

We stopped for a cool drink near where Darth Vader was doing battle with some Jedi trainees.

We of course couldn't leave without seeing Alistair's favorite characters Lightning McQueen and Mater.
