Storyland

On the last day of our mini vacation with Grandad, we went to Storyland.  First stop was the little steam train that toured through some of the highlights of the park.  Alistair spied several rides he wanted to go on.  After the train, we drove the antique cars.  Alistair drove Colin and Grandad while Charlotte drove me.  They both loved it. The next ride we went on was the Cucko Clockenspiel.  (I sat this one out as I don't do spinny rides.)  Alistair loved spinning the barrel as fast as he could.  Charlotte didn't like it at all, and Grandad got very dizzy.

Next up was the Polar Coaster.  Alistair loved it.  He went on it twice, the first time with Colin and Grandad and then with me.  He said "Whee! Fun!" the whole time.  Then we went on the Dutch shoes.  After a short drink/ice cream break, Alistair, Colin, and Grandad went on the Bamboo Chutes and Dr. Geyeser's Raft Ride.  The raft ride was very tame, but they got soaked being sprayed with water jets. Charlotte and I rode the tractors, twice.  Charlotte said it was "My favorite." and when she saw the pink tractor she rode the first time, she said "Mines."  The boys joined us and we rode the tractors a third time, and then we went to watch the very cheesy Farm Follie show.

We had a great time the rest of the afternoon.  We rode the Buccaneer Pirate ship, Alistair and Charlotte played in the pirate playground, we rode the pumpkin carriage to Cinderella's castle where the kids met Cinderella, Charlotte and I rode in a swan boat, Alistair and Colin rode in Alice's teacups, and then we explored the three bears's cottage, saw the billy goats gruff, met the old lady who lived in a shoe and lots of other things.  I think Charlotte was impressed by the ride in the pumpkin carriage to see Cinderella.  She kept talking about "my pumpkin carriage."  We had a fun and busy day.  It was no wonder that the kids fell fast asleep after a few minutes of being in the car.
