After a buffet breakfast at the hotel overlooking Clifford's Tower, we explored more of York. The Minster was closed for a special service, so we walked along the medieval walls instead.
After a picnic lunch at the base of Clifford's Tower, Colin and Alistair went to explore Clifford's Tower while Charlotte and I visited Fairfax House, an 18th Century townhouse.
After walking around Clifford's Tower, Colin and Alistair visited the Jorvik Viking Centre. (We had to explain that it was about "vikings" not "biking.") Colin remembers going to the Jorvik Viking Centre when he was a kid, taking the little cars underground to the recreated viking village, complete with authentic stinky smells.
We all met up again at the York Minster. Alistair had fun walking on only the dark stone that weaved its way around the Minster.
